Peter Beardsley At Blyth
On Thursday 25th November 2004 Peter Beardsley came to Blyth to switch on the Christmas lights. This was the first time a celebrity had been invited to the event. Over £50,000 had been spent on the lights and it was fitting that a local hero should be chosen. Many thousands of people filled the market square to witness the event.
